Tis' the season of giving! We thought what better present to give than #cheesecake! Right now you can buy our small cakes individually (as opposed to a minimum of 3) in any of our #yummy #holiday flavors for $10 each or you can buy four for $35! So stop stressing about what to get the boss for #Christmas, and buy him or her the gift that will be sure to get you a raise :)
One might think cutting a cheesecake is a fairly straight forward process. It's like cutting a regular cake right? WRONG! There are many steps to cutting the perfect slice of cheesecake.
The first step is to buy the best cheesecake Reno and Sparks has to offer. A Sweet Creams cheesecake of course! Yes, I am bias but I'm also correct ;)
The second step is to make sure your cheesecake is very cold. I mean cold! We suggest putting your cheesecake in the freezer for an hour or two prior to cutting.
Once your cake is very cold, fill up a large bowl with HOT water and dip a sharp knife in the water for a few seconds to heat the blade.
Now it's time to cut the cheese...cake. Haha!
Be sure to wipe the blade clean with a napkin or rag and put the blade in the hot water again before each cut. Continue this method until you have the desired number of pieces.
Usually, I don't even cut my cheesecakes, I just eat the whole thing with a fork or my bare hands, depending on how fancy I feel. But if you choose to share your cheesecake with others, and need to cut the cheese...cake this is the way to go.
If you've had the chance to look at our flavor menu, you may have noticed that we don't do traditional. We could have opted for a more conservative, self-explanatory approach when naming our cheesecakes, but instead we veered away from that and put our creative heads together. It wasn't the easiest task when we first started. We sat at a coffee shop and stared blankly at eachother for what felt like an eternity. We discovered the next night that our mental road blocks could easily be lifted with a bottle of wine... or three. The creative juices started flowing pretty easily after that and names like Naked, Kiss My Blarney and Cup 'a Joe Mama were born. We could have made it easy on ourselves with names like Plain or Coffee, but those who know us personally, know that we are anything but plain :)
As any grandmother will tell you, cooking requires love. It is no different while baking up one of our perfect cheesecakes. It is a task that requires love, creativity and a ton of patience. Cheesecakes can behave a lot like an unruly adolescent. They can sometimes rebel in the strangest of ways. If extreme care is not taken, they can ruin your entire day. Thankfully we've been able to perfect this process, eliminating the heartache for everyone else. While many people can be caught daydreaming about palm trees and white, sandy beaches, we dream about what kind of cheesecake we want to be devouring...on a white, sandy beach surrounded by palm trees. We put a ton of love into our cheesecake babies and I'm positive that love shines through when biting into one of our creamy pieces of goodness.
